- Upfront Notice: BICA sends a Courtesy Notice.
- Follow-up Notice (if not paid):
- Notice of Intent to File a Lien:
- Required at least 10 days before filing a lien, which means within 80 days after last delivery (since a lien must be filed within 90 days of last delivery).
- Must be sent to the Owner on the project.
- This notice is available on the BICA member portal.
RESIDENTIAL:
- Same as for Commercial jobs.
PUBLIC:
- Upfront Notice: BICA sends a Courtesy Notice.

- Notice to Contractor:
- Required within 90 days of last delivery.
- This notice does not apply to State Highway jobs
- This notice is available on the BICA member portal.
- Notice of Claim: (Department of Transportation)
- Applies to State Highway projects for the Department of Transportation.
- Required within 180 days of last delivery
- Amount of claim must include interest calculated per statute guidelines.
- This notice is available on the BICA member portal.
